I called AT&T the other day because I saw the $14.99 Basic DSL deal on TV. As always, the customer service rep told me it was for new customers only. Of course my response was something along the lines of "so you're screwing your loyal customers to get new customers". It's what I normally say of AT&T. Due to the "monopoly" nature of telecommunications services, I've been a(n) (in)direct AT&T customer for longer than I'd like to think. (>.<) As always, she tried to upsell by suggesting bundles. Anyway, I asked for the corporate number and give them a call. The guy @ corporate gave me the same line, but said he'd check on it for me. Few minutes later he told that it was already changed that day. (O.o) Funny how that worked out... I guess all that talk of them monitoring your call is true. I guess they figured it was just easier to shut me up by giving me the deal. (^_^)/~~ Give them a call if you're on their $19.95 Basic Plan and want the lower price. YMMV.Yeah, I don't want to pay more for higher speed. Call me cheap or whatever, but in other countries that kind of money gets you 50Mbs or higher speed not 6Mbs... I'm not paying them for crappy service just because they got the regulators and Congress in their pocket. I get free Internet access from work anyway and it's faster than what I pay for. Now you also get free WiFi at AT&T Hotspots as an AT&T DSL subscriber.
