Free Anti-Virus Software [Updated]

Panda Software is giving away free anti-virus software. It's the Panda Platinum 2006 Internet Security. They already got the 2007 version out so I guess they feel they can give this away. You just have to register at their site and check your e-mail couple of times to get the software. It's good for a year of update. Enjoy some free outdated software. Just be warned that it might not protect you against new stuff since it's the last year's model.

Computer Associates is giving away their product as well. If you're using Vista they have the eTrust EZ AntiVirus for free as well. It's actually trial with 1 year free subscription. It is the software, but since they are on subscription base it could be considered a trial... (O.o) Doesn't make much sense to me to call it a trial.

Also if you're a college student or broadband subscriber, you might have free anti-virus software available to you. I know schools often offer their students free anti-virus software so their network doesn't get infected. Same thing goes for broadband. It's usually under customer support. Look for downloads.

Screwed by the SS

I just put up some stuff for sale. Go to Screwed by SS to get your shirt. Well, just buy one for everyone you know, then buy some more . (^_^);;

I also got a letter from my Senator's office. It's useless. It's about how the SS asked for more info in June. Jeez, I could have told them that. If you thought politicians were useless, you were right. They are, or at least this one is. It would be nice if we had some politicians who could stand up to other parts of the government. (@.@)

Multistory Coffee Shops

I'm watching South Park episode where the gnomes steal people's underpants. I saw them building the Harbucks coffee shop. It's multistory and has those patio umbrellas on the roof. It reminded me of multistory Starbucks, McDonald's, etc. that you find in Japan or Korea.

It would be nice if we had multistory Starbucks here. Last few times when I went to Starbucks with my friend, the seats inside were all full. It would be nice if they had a lot more floors with more seats. I don't want to bake in the sun while I enjoy my overpriced drink. At least they could provide some air conditioning and free WiFi. I'm gonna have to go check out Panera since they even sent coupons. Free WiFi... \(^_^)/

In case you're wondering, that's the McDonald's near ueno station in Tokyo. It was taken using my "walk by shooting" (patent pending) technique. XD

Horrible CM

I just saw the new Hummer CM on TV. It was horrible. (X.x) I thought it was another mediocre CM when it started, but it turned into a horrid, horrid, CM. Imagine the girl at the end of the CM instead of Lily Aldridge in the recent Levi's I Walk the Line CM. How horrid would the Levi's CM be?

No offense to the girl in the Hummer CM nor her parents or anyone who cares.

Just change the channel when the new Hummer CM co
mes on. (>.<)

Japanese Spam

Hhhhmmmm, spam. I don't mean the Hormel luncheon meat, but the useless junk mail you get. I may have found some use for it...

As I was checking my Gmail junk mail folder, I noticed half a dozen Japanese spam. The English spam usually involves pharmaceuticals or software. The Japanese ones are always about sex. Well, at least the ones I glanced at are anyway. I was looking at one today. I was reading the first few words that show up after the subject. It reminded me of a phone call I got from one of my ex. I figured this could a source of ideas for one of my designs. If nothing else, I could pick up a few slang.

I'm Not The Target

I noticed Apple and Amazon are getting into the online movie distribution business. It's amazing how high they price the stuff when it's low res version with DRM up the wazoo. When I was at the used CD store last month, they had a whole bunch of DVD's. They were used and priced at $7. I thought even that was pricey.

I just drive down to the library and check out DVD's there. It doesn't cost you anything other than time and gas to go there. You can check thing out for a week and it's paid by your tax dollars. You can put things on hold, but that cost money. Although it's only 25 cents to 50 cents. It's a lot cheaper than any video rental place. You might have to deal with scratches and limited selection. You can request that the library get new material. Not sure they would or not. My friend asked the library to get a particular DVD and they did. I requested a few, but no word on those yet so YMMV.

As always, I make a bad consumer. (^_^);; Although my friend will be quick to point out I'm not as bad a consumer as he is.
