I came across this comic book called 妹は思春期 (imouto wa shishunki). It's a four panel comic strip about a brother and sister that live together. I guess they are away at some school. It's a little offbeat and has ton of sexual humor. I had a real big LOL moment with it. There are theses flashbacks(?) to kindergarten times. There's one where the kids are drawing animals and their food. The sister drew chestnut: クリ (kuri) and squirrel: リス(risu). When you combine the two, it becomes クリとリス. The と (to) means "and". She's saying chestnut and squirrel. It seems innocent enough in English, but it was so funny to me in Japanese. Your mileage may vary since I'm easily amused.
If you're wondering what's so funny, look up クリトリス using Japanese to English translation. It's a bit adult... Not in my opinion, but some people are just sensitive. If you're curious, look it up, but don't blame me if you don't like the result. I didn't tell you to do it and I warned you about it. :P
[Update: Added actual strip and made minor change so you can look up クリトリス properly. I guess this makes this post a bit more adult... (O.o)]
I saw few of the new Mac ads. I've seen several posts about them online. They talk about the virus ad and how Apple shouldn't be putting out an ad that's totally false. (Nothing new for Apple if I remember correctly.) What I thought of the ads is this. The PC guy looks a lot like Bill Gates. The Mac guy looks a lot like Will from the TV show Will & Grace. The impression I got was that uber geeks use PC and gay guy with disposable income use Mac. (No offense to Mac users and homosexuals.) I always thought of Apple as a fruity company and these ads just reinforced it.
Personally I think Apple makes overpriced, low quality PC. Haven't you heard of about the whining of the power system and the slathered on thermal grease that cause overheating? I didn't know they still used thermal grease on those things. I thought pretty much everyone was using little thermal pads. Maybe the grease is cheaper and gives better profit margins... Oh, I heard the whining goes away when you run Windows XP on a Mac. Hahaha, maybe the software is worse than the hardware. XD
I don't like the color choice of their laptops. I like my laptops to be gray/silver, purple or black. I currently have a black laptop and an old silvery purple laptop. (The purple one barely runs any "modern" software. It has issues with a lot of stuff I try to run on it...)
I do use iTunes, but I use CD's. I don't want my music to have DRM unless it's dirt cheap like 15 cents a song. At that price point, I tend to care less. I find iTunes to be very buggy on my laptop, but I like the little album cover box and how it handles my songs with foreign names. (I've had it crash a dozen times in under an hour. And I know how to crash it without fail. I just do the things that needs doing on the desktop and copy the files over. Such a hassle...) I would just use Winamp if it could handle those foreign songs and had an album cover preview. I used to use WMP a long time ago, but never really liked it. I only used it 'cause it could handle my foreign songs. I found it to be rock steady compared to iTunes. Maybe the newer versions of iTunes are buggy. Maybe I should go find like a version 5.x somewhere. I don't remember iTunes crashing so much when it was in the 4.x or the short-lived 5.x series. But then again, I didn't use it to do things that I do with it now. It's a buggy piece of software, but it's free. It's not cool like free OSS software, but it's free. That's the reason for my using it, the price.
Hmmm, I think I digressed enough.

I'm not talking about the luncheon meat. I rather like artificial meats, including bologna. That's no reason to give me a meat substitute sandwich. I'd rather have a Mos Burger. Fresh Burger!! Fresh Burger!! (^_^);; I digress...I just looked at my spam box. There's about 90 pieces of spam there. I noticed three languages. I used to get only a tiny amount of spam, but now it's getting a bit problematic... It started out in one language. I noticed a few in a second language. (I thought that was funny: globalization. Although it looked like porn sites or dating sites of some sort by the look of the preview snippet you get with gmail. I didn't look too closely.) Now I just noticed one in a third language. Should I be amused I'm getting spam even in a language I don't know? I used to get spam in my old e-mail address in Chinese. It looked like some advert from some pizza place in Taiwan. They were the only ones that sent me spam ever so often in Chinese. I thought it was amusing. (I hardly got any spam in that account. I could count a month's worth with one hand.)
